The Grayzone
The Grayzone is a shady propaganda outlet that lurks in the grayer areas of truth and morality, masquerading as journalism while amplifying Vatnik and Assadist pro-authoritarian narratives. They smear their critics as imperialist stooges — all the while nursing a soft spot for Russia’s very real genocidal imperialism.
Gray as they are, they particularly hate humanitarian organizations like the White Helmets (not a joke). Forever trapped in the gray, they smear light as propaganda and paint darkness as nuance. But they dive fully into the black when denying or excusing genocides and mass murder: that doesn’t just insult the victims, it helps ongoing war crimes proceed unfettered.
One of their main reporters, Aaron Maté, is even known as the first person in history to have been fact-checked by Twitter’s Community Notes for saying “I’m not a fan of mass murder.” Unbelievable.
