What is Vatnik Soup?

Vatnik Soup is a series of social media threads about pro-Russian propagandists (“vatniks”) from around the world, be they so-called “independent journalists”, politicians or military personnel, whether they’re naive fools or cynical grifters.

The series also offers deeper insights into how online propaganda works and is spread, such as social media manipulation through troll farms, Kremlin-crafted memes and narratives and coordinated fake news campaigns.

I feel like it is important to introduce these bad actors along with the strategies they employ in the information space. Only this way can we grasp the sheer scale of the disinformation and pursue the one thing that’s usually the first victim of war: truth.
